The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles by Bruce H. Lipton PhD (HayHouse, Inc., 2008)

I'm going to have to re-read this one - I think that there were some concepts that I'm not familiar with.  That being said, however, it was a well written, easily readable book.  Here are some quotes:

"I had come to question not only Darwin's dog-eat-dog version of evolution but also biology's Central Dogma, the premise that genes control life.  That scientific premise has one major flaw - genes cannot turn themselves on or off.  In more scientific terms, genes are not "self-emergent."  Something in the environment has to trigger gene activity.  Though that fact had already been established by frontier science, conventional scientists blinded by genetic dogma simply ignored it." (p.xxiv).

"When we cross that line and truly understand the New Biology [Epigenetics], we will no longer fractiously debate the role of nurture and nature because we will realize that the fully conscious mind trumps both nature and nurture.  And I believe we will also experience as profound a paradigmatic change to humanity as when a round-world reality was introduced to a flat-world civilization." (p.xxvii).

"...it is the changing of the proteins' electromagnetic charges that is responsible for their behavior-generating movement, not DNA." (p.29).

Looking at the notes I scratched down while reading this book - there's a lot!  He talks about the cell membrane being "a liquid crystal semiconductor with gates and channels." (p.60).  He also talks about Quantum theory, as well as vibrational frequency interactions, ie. harmonic resonance and destructive interference.  Energy first, in other words - like what F.A. Wolf, Pinchbeck, Castaneda and many others have frequently stated and alluded to.
